An Alarming Situation- Heart attack at the age of 25!!!

Hi friends’, this blog is the summary of the articles on how this modern world affairs affecting at such a young age which was not even prevalent a decade ago. These articles forced me to make aware my friends about the consequences of surviving in this dynamic world and how to tackle them.

Yesterday, I came across an article which states that India topped the list of heart attack patients. Believe it or not this is an alarming situation. The thing that shocked me the most was heart attacks cases were increasing among youth aged between 20 and 25.

Ashok, Age 23, completed his MBA From a renowned college, joined an insurance company. He was Punctual, Disciplined, Industrious, Ambitious and a High sense of Achievement. Very common ingredients which can be found in a Fresh MBAs’ (Serious). He worked day and night to achieve his targets in order to fulfill his dreams faster as compared to his colleagues. In the mean time, Because of such high pressure, he was not able to give proper time to food, Physical health, Family and Mental health. As a result, he was able to perform way beyond his actual targets but from inside he was becoming weak. His bosses were happy on his performance, All were shocked to see his achievement in a little time, some were happy, some were shocked, and some were jealous also. After 8 months of his joining, Ashok fainted in his office premise. He was admitted in nearby Hospital. After some examination and test, Doctor said that he had a HEART ATTACK.

So, How a youth at 23 can have his first Heart attack. This is possible now days. With mental and physical stress going up and zero level of physical Exercises.
Message to YOUNGISTAAN for improving the mental health:-

1. RELAX- Let go your tensions every chance you get. Forget yourself for awhile by becoming engrossed in a good book, listening to your favorite music, visit your local park and sit quietly among the trees, work on your hobby, mediating or gardening. Build some relaxation time into each day.

2. LEARN TO SAY “NO”- Read a book or attend a class on assertiveness.

3. DO IT NOW- Procrastination can lead to negative feelings about yourself. Waiting until you “feel like it” can sometime take forever.

4. BE KIND TO YOURSELF- People are frequently hard on themselves when things don’t go “right”. Instead of saying to yourself, “I m’ stupid, I’ll never get this right. “try saying, “I am alert and catch on quickly.” This helped me a lot, It’ll definitely help you too.

5. FIND A FRIEND- Expressing feelings and ideas to a friend can help us clarify what is truly important to ourselves.

6. ADAPT TO CHANGE- change is necessary part of life so be patient and allow yourself time to adapt.

7. EAT PROPERLY- My favorite. Nutrition has a lot to do with mentally positive. Limit your intake of sugar, fat, salt, caffeine and alcohol.

8. EXERCISE- Even a 15 minute walk three times a week does wonders for how you think and feel.

9. EXPRESS YOUR FEELINGS- Going to a movie where others are likely to be laughing or crying can be safe way to express your emotions. Try recording your thoughts in a journal, or even write a letter to the editor of your newspaper.

10. REVIEW YOUR “should”- If you feel struck by something you “should” be doing and aren't, set a time limit by which you either have them done or get rid of them.

In the race of growing fast, topping the charts, performing better than the competitors, we are forgetting the real meaning of happiness and making our body suffers.

Above are all methods through which, one can bring a right change in his/her life and can lead a balanced successful life.

Friend's please share this with your friends, relatives and acquaintances.
Feedback and suggestions are welcome.
Thank you for reading!!!

  12. Thanks Jitendra,
for making us all aware of d fact. As an individual m also committing the same mistake of improper rest, loads of stress and incapability of saying NO!
the biggest problem everyone , not only MBAs, face is that they ASSUME tht since we are young , we won't b facing ne physical incapability due to hard work, which infact is a very wrong notionand may prove harmful to their health!.........

  14. Dear Jitendra,
you have chosen a very relevant topic for the blog. I think most of the problem roots from bad eating habits. our youth should pursue balanced lifestyle. Apart for single handedly focus on economic activity, must give proper time to the health. Health is a wealth, once lost cannot be recuperated easily.
